About Dr. Steve

Dr. Steve Giannoutsos or “Dr. G.” as he is commonly called was born in Astoria, Queens just outside of New York City. He graduated from St. John’s University in Jamaica, Queens with high honors with a BS in Biology.

He completed his dental training at NYU where he graduated top in his class with a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. Upon graduation he was inducted into OKU, the national dental honor society. He was fortunate to be accepted into NYU’s highly competitive orthodontic residency program directly out of dental school.

During his residency he served as president and chief resident of his orthodontic class.
During that time he also discovered a passion for treating children and adults with facial deformities. His research thesis to attain specialty certification involved children with cleft deformities.

He enjoyed the time he spent with his research mentor so much that he applied for and was accepted to the craniofacial orthodontic fellowship program at the Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery at NYU’s Langone Medical Center. When he completed his fellowship he was asked to stay on as an attending doctor. He now holds a position as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery (Plastic Surgery).

Dr. G. lives locally with his wife Michaele and his two daughters Yana and Maria.
